The sun is shining and spring is in the air, this is our favourite time of year and when we really love living in Faversham. Not only does our historic market town look amazing in the sunshine there is always something going on.
Over the next few weeks throughout April, there are some surprising events taking place that bring out locals and tourists from all over, starting this weekend with the Hanami Festival, this celebration of blossom marks the start of spring at Brogdale, which, is the home of the National Fruit Collection.
Easter is a busy time here with Easter events at Brogdale, Doddington Place Gardensand Mount Ephraim. Plus Easter wouldn’t be Easter without Faversham’s Annual Hat Parade! Taking place this year on 20thApril. Join the Easter Bunny for a display of colour, creativity and craziness! Prizes are given after the parade so it’s worth getting creative on your headwear and joining in the fun. Don’t worry if you haven’t a clue where to start The Crafty Fox are running hat making workshops to ensure you have a hat worthy of joining the parade.
Also running throughout the day on the 20thApril is the very popular Best Of Faversham Market popular for it’s range of quality food and drink suppliers together with locally made arts and crafts. Plus our friends and neighbours, Cyclechic are running a pop up shop outside our home at The Alexander Centre where you can purchase a range of stylish cycling accessories. We would recommend a visit as one of the very best ways to explore Faversham and the surrounding area is indeed by bicycle.
On the 28thApril is Faversham Doggy Day. A chance to celebrate your canine companions, and maybe treat your pampered pooch to a doggy gift or two. Join in the fun dog show, organised by Happy Endings Rescue with all proceeds to going to the charity to support those pups that are still looking for their forever family.
