Once again Saxon Shore are teaming up with Faversham Facebook Groups Members of Memories of Faversham and Surrounding Villages and The Faversham and Surrounding Villages Gossip Groups and we are doing our bit and raising money for BBC Children in Need by taking part in the Countryfile Ramble in Faversham.
The ramble will take place on the 13th October, we will meet outside our offices at The Alexander Centre at 11am. We will walk through Faversham’s town centre, over the creek and out along the Saxon Shore Way by taking an leisurely stroll along Faversham and Oare creeks past our historic boatyards, farmland and out to wetlands teaming with wildlife and rare birds including our favourites, the avocet.
The entire area is rich in history even claim credible links to one of England’s oldest folk tales – Beowulf.
We will stop off at the historic Shipwrights Arms for snacks and refreshments before continuing to ramble along Oare Creek, past the sites where Faversham’s gunpowder industry was once a hive of activity but is now a tranquil location that inspired our company name.
To enter simply click on the link https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/Saxonshore and make a donation (suggested £5 per adult minimum), we will also be running a raffle on the day to try to raise more money for this fantastic charity.
