We had no idea when we decided to put on our Countryfile Ramble this year that it would generate so much interest, so we were totally shocked to receive a call from the BBC asking if some of our children (aka the Shorelets) would like to appear on BBC Children In Need’s live show on the 15th November 2019, to talk about why they wanted to raise money for Children In Need. The girls really wanted to raise money, this year more that ever as, sadly they have a school friend who was diagnosed with a brain tumour and the support that she and her family have received from local charities that are supported by Children In Need has been invaluable,
The South East part of the broadcast was being filmed at Allington Castle, which we got to explore a little whilst waiting for their interview. It was a fascinating evening, watching the amount of work and logistics that go into putting on a live performance. We all thoroughly enjoyed the evening which raised £3.9m in the South East Of England alone.
The girls were also asked to do an interview with Charlotte Wright for BBC South East’s Facebook page, you can view this here
The live show is available on iPlayer, the girls appear at around 1 hour 5 minutes in for their interview with Ellie Crisell
Needless to say, we are very proud parents.
